Fire Protection Operative

In the role as Fire Protection Operative you will participate in the delivery of the Fire Systems Planned and Reactive maintenance works, ensuring that all site Fire Safety Systems are maintained to the required standards. As part of the role you will also act as first response to site incidents working with both onsite and offsite emergency response teams.
**Main Duties**
You will be expected to carry out primary function of the Fire service onsite, including the governance of BAE Systems responsibilities. Escort county fire service on arrival to site, escalating the incident details in-line with the site emergency escalation procedure. Support the occupational health department responding to onsite medical incidents and operate the site ambulance. Ensure good housekeeping practices are being adhered to by all site teams. Ensure all site Fire documentation for emergency equipment is kept up to date and is accurate.
The Fire officer daily duties include:
Fire Inspections, Fire Alarm Testing, Isolation & De-isolation of sprinkler, Sprinkler valve testing, Issuing of Hot Works permits, Inspection of all Fire doors, Fire extinguisher inspections and servicing,
Emergency water supplies inspection, testing and servicing, Defibrillator inspections, Emergency refuge and Telephone checks
Ensure all duties are completed in a safe, tidy and responsible manner in accordance with the site Health and Safety requirements. Carry out repairs in a cost-effective manner. Identify and report any asset risks and failures, Recording all asset data accurately on PDA's. Carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested from time-to-time by the site management team.
