**Main Purpose of the Role**: To undertake audio typing for the doctors and to undertake a variety of administrative tasks which assist in the day to day running of the practice. Main Duties Type referral and non-referral letters & reports Process a variety of reports, record on computer/in patients records Ensure appropriate consent is sought prior to releasing patient information Process requests for copies of medical records Raise invoices for non-NHS work Monitor payments received Attend and minute staff meetings as appropriate Answer incoming telephone calls for all secretarial related work Liaise with relevant services as necessary regarding referrals Liaise with hospitals/clinics to obtain copies of clinical letters Oversee the lending of the Blood Pressure monitor Ensure all outgoing post is sent in a timely manner Other Duties Provide holiday and sickness cover for secretarial team Attend training courses and meetings as required to ensure you have the skills and information to carry out the role effectively All staff must familiarise themselves with the staff handbook which includes all aspects of H&S / confidentiality / data protection etc The list of duties in the job description should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive. There will be other duties and requirements associated with the role.
