Family Liaison Officer with Dsl Responsibilities

We're looking for a dedicated, passionate and experienced individual who is passionate about ASC, with a track record of working in this area. This role will, with the support of the team, create a therapeutically appropriate environment to enable all students to progress in line with their academic and pastoral plans, whilst nurturing and developing staff, creating exceptional autism practitioners
**Key Responsibilities: Safeguarding**
To safeguard and protect the children, young people and staff at This is My Education School by providing professional leadership in Safeguarding practice across School as DSL. To deliver safeguarding training, update and implement policies and procedures and share the learning with all staff, volunteers, mentors and governors.
To receive safeguarding referrals and coordinate our procedure which addresses and prioritises the needs of those affected, by liaising with statutory agencies. To promote positive attitudes by families towards education and to ensure parents are aware of statutory responsibilities
To monitor and quality assure safeguarding records and chronologies, ensuring that actions are taken and recorded in a timely fashion.
**To support families as TIME Family Liaison Officer**

- Have a secure understanding about safeguarding and an up-to-date knowledge of KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education)
- Have excellent organisational and administrative skills and able to prioritise effectively
- Have a real belief in inclusivity and the fact that all children can be supported to be successful
- Be passionate about improving children’s’ outcomes and committed to working in an inner-city school deeply rooted in the local community
- Be able to work as part of a team to identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent problems from escalating
- Be up-to-date on your knowledge of local service provision for appropriate signposting and referrals
- Be good at establishing positive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and families
- Have flexibility, resilience, adaptability and commitment to work as part of a team
- Be a great communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Have experience of maintaining accurate and up-to-date administration, reports and caseload records
Maintain and monitor TIME CPOMS confidential database of safeguarding referrals.
Each individual is required to support the values and ethos of the school and the priorities as defined in the School Development Plan. This will mean focusing on the needs of colleagues, parents and pupils and being flexible in a busy pressurised environment.
To develop an action plan and monitoring protocol for the development of high-quality Safeguarding practice and effective family liaison to support the School Development Plan.
To support Sensory in delivering effective support for families; both on a day-to-day basis and through high quality, meaningful reports and meetings.
To participate in whole school Leadership by contributing to: Safeguarding Health and Safety School Events
Overseeing recording and reporting of progress as required Coordinating and monitoring the impact of Safeguarding training across the school
Role modelling good practice To support the school’s work with the community, such as Family Workshops, Outreach Programme.
To carry out additional duties in line with purpose of role, as requested by the Head Teacher
