Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Services was established to provide consistent, outstanding
service to Thermo Fisher businesses. The Internal Communications and Administrative Specialist role supports the Senior Directors and a team of 240 people at the GBS Inchinnan site, and works closely the EMEA GBS Shared Services Sr Communications manager.
The role is required to handle internal communications and events, including the production and coordination of employee communications in the GBS Inchinnan site. This role will also support important administrative tasks for the site and UK board of Directors
The position will work closely with local Business Resource Groups and champion site events together with the GBS Leadership Team, to champion a strong internal culture.
**What we will you do**:
- Support the GBS UK site by driving key communication initiatives and through the maintenance of all internal communications channels (intranet, monthly newsletter, screens, etc)
- Act as a cross-site communications team member
- Support various internal and external events from a communications and organizational perspective
- Work in close partnership with the Sr Communications Manager in GBS EMEA to develop and implement internal communication and employee engagement strategies and plans.
- Support communications for GBS UK employee involvement in the company’s social responsibility initiatives.
- Handle third-party vendors, including agencies, designers, printers and freelancers, and associated budgets to ensure effective use of services.
- Provide assistance in GBS site visitor planning, support for large site meeting (eg. workstream townhalls)
- Handle sensitive administrative tasks, such as supporting the Snr Finance Director’s UK board responsibilities, document management, archiving and other ad-hoc support required by the GBS site lead
- Support other GBS site cross-workstream coordination efforts
**How will we get there?**:
- Bachelor’s degree (communication, marketing, PR, media) - Preferred not essential.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively in English (both written and spoken)
- Consistent track record of successfully handling communications and administrative activities a business environment.
- Experience in social media platforms, intranet content development and other communication technologies.
- Ability to manage a number of programs/projects simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter, meticulous, proactive, able to work independently as well as in teams.
- Digital Literacy: Microsoft Office Suite of tools, including SWAY; iConnect, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat
- High personal integrity, and a great teammate, who can work on their own initiative
- Solution oriented, resourceful, performing well under pressure
- Highly eloquent, confident and persuasive
