**Job title**:Principal Procurement Professional

**Salary**: £48,306+ depending on skills and experience

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Managing and supporting the team to discharge procurement activities in line with governance and compliance protocols, ensuring supplier performance and relationships
- Managing internal stakeholder relationships to evolve cross functional working
- Prioritising activities for your team, providing guidance, coaching and support to maximise efficiency
- Undertaking order book reviews, support where required for stakeholder and or supplier reviews
- Ensuing ERP data is monitored and team updates are enacted in a timely manner, agreeing metrics aligned to reporting and queries managed effectively
- Identifying risks and issues related to operational and contractual performance, developing effective mitigations and resolutions
- Ensuring that applicable Terms, Conditions, Legislative Flow downs and all other contractual requirements are effectively managed and maintained
- Representing the Procurement Manager when necessary

**Your skills and experiences**:
**Essential**
- Previous leadership experience, in a supply chain, finance, engineering or similar environment
- Experience of operational procurement
- Experience with risk and opportunity management
- Previous supplier relationship and sub-contract programme management

**The Weapon Systems UK - Supply Chain team**:
Working as a lead member of the Supply Chain team to directly manage a procurement team with a given number of suppliers, reporting into either a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Manager.

Responsible for managing and supporting a team to discharge supplier management best practice to achieve an optimum standard to ensure delivery schedule adherence and quality requirements are achieved aligned to contractual requirements.

As part of BAE Systems Platforms and Services sector in the USA, Weapon Systems (UK) designs, develops, manufactures and supports artillery systems, naval guns, and provides engineering capability to the wider BAE Systems business.
