**What you’ll be doing**:

- Planning, controlling, executing and monitoring all in-scope transactional Procurement and major subcontracting activity with mínimal supervision
- Developing and agreeing the Procurement strategies for particular assigned areas and leading implementation of plans. Whilst promoting cross functional collaboration to ensure full, thorough engagement and buy-in to contracting strategies
- Undertaking as well as supporting the team, in supplier assessment and due diligence activity to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs. This includes competitive tendering, negotiation & contract agreement
- Developing and agreeing major sub-contracts with stakeholders and Suppliers as well as effectively managing sub-contract post agreement, including the management of change
- Adapting approach to ensure that negotiations are concluded for an optimised business outcome
- Supporting, recording and reporting cost savings / cost avoidance and delivering ongoing cost analysis. As well as robust project / contract management, including supporting associated risk and opportunity management
- Leading the timely identification, analysis and resolution of internal and external issues which may potentially affect the supply of material/services to programme requirements
- Update in house reporting systems with accurate information relating to the procurement activity and in accordance with document management policy and process
- Undertaking the continuous review of supplier performance against quality, cost and delivery metrics to ensure Submarines' requirements are met and therefore supporting the future Supply Chain strategy
- Contributing to business wide change and improvement projects at the forefront of Submarine boat build

**Your skills and experiences**:
Essential:

- Knowledge of and experience within a Procurement environment
- Demonstrable understanding of building knowledge of supplier operations, managing supplier performance and working with them to optimise their service
- Experience of working on large contracts and negotiating terms and conditions, including the negotiation and agreement of Supplier pricing proposals
- Proven track record of supporting stakeholder engagement within a highly regulated environment

Desirable:

- Experience of ERP Systems
- CIPS Qualification

**The Procurement team**:
You will be part of a team that is responsible for delivering Procurement activity for Onsite Service Contracts, including the execution of the end-to-end Procurement process. This will include the delivery of specialist engineering or manufacturing products and services, to quality, cost and schedule requirements. You will manage the supplier performance and improvement activity, including pro-active risk/opportunity management. As well as developing, maintaining and managing stakeholders.

This role will be at the forefront of supporting the submarine build programme and will give you the opportunity to have a positive impact on this project.
