Caledonian Sleepers forms a vital part of Scotland’s transport network, regularly moving over 3,000 Guests per week. The contract has a workforce in excess of 150 employees and together with several key 3rd party suppliers, delivers a core and unique travel service between Scotland and England.

Here at Serco Caledonian Sleeper, we are recruiting for a Project Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for both project and continuous improvement delivery across the contract.
You will report into our Head of Business Improvement and will support both strategic programmes and transformational projects, ensuring a smooth, timely and successful delivery.

Your responsibilities will include managing, facilitating and co-ordinating business improvement activities including collaboration and engagement, lean process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Focusing on our guests, colleagues, processes, and system improvements, you will ensure that optimal levels of performance are achieved and will be expected to review processes and procedures with a view to refining and improving them across the contract.

These are exciting new roles which will help to support growth within this contract, therefore accountabilities may change as the business evolves.

**Other accountabilities of the role will also include**:

- Support and Lead on the project delivery of both Transformational & Business Improvement Projects and Initiatives, linked to the satisfaction of KPIs in our contract with Transport Scotland.
- Creation and management of project information, templates, tools, and team engagement related to assigned projects.
- Reporting of projects and preparation of governance material as required.
- Managing, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of projects that reach across the entire contract. Liaising with the project team and wider business to ensure communication and understanding of the project progress, issues and risks are clear.
- Coordinate the planning, direction, risk management, cost & benefit tracking, interdependency mapping throughout the delivery of assigned projects.
- Lead problem solving exercises with the department heads to form solutions to improve business practices and processes.
- Lead inter-departmental groups to deliver changes and measure the improvements made.

**What you’ll need to do the role**

You will be Service orientated, have a can-do approach; an ability to drive excellent standards of customer satisfaction with a strong blend of Business Improvement experience alongside Project Management knowledge. In addition, you will be comfortable handling large amounts of data.

Finally, you will need to be a team player committed to the highest ethical and professional standards.
