**About the vacant position**

**Position available**:
Chief Quality Assurance Inspector
- **Role Purpose**:Managing a small team of quality inspectors in a busy, fast paced inspection laboratory. Carry out inspection of varied precision machined parts using many types of equipment. Performing and delegating with first off, patrol checking and final inspections duties. Completing PPAP, FAIR, ISIR and critical dimension reporting. Must be conversant in first principles inspection methods

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading a team of Inspectors ensuring effective, accurate and timely communications will be your number one priority both to our clients and internal departments
- Inspect and validate manufactured parts
- Perform roaming inspection checks
- Proficient with inspection equipment and tools including CMM, Wenzel gear checking, Zeiss con trace, Tesa
- Promote a culture of lean activities within the Quality Inspection department - 6S
- Complete ISIR, FAIR’s and in process first off and final inspections
- Maintaining the calibration system
- Support 8D/ 5-Why analysis technique
- Use of Quality Control software (Knowledge of HighQA an advantage)
- Input into Contract Review process
- Attend Quarterly Management Review
- Support Quality Manager in his daily activities
- Implement CI and Lean activities within Inspection
- Conduct SFDC in Inspection

Operations

**Salary Range**:
£30,000 to £35,000

**Hours of work**:
Monday to Thursday - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Friday - 8:00 3:30pm

Including 15min paid and 30min unpaid breaks

**Probation**: 3 months

**Holiday**:Holiday 28 days including bank holidays.

**Essential Qualification & skills required for this position**
- Minimum of 5 years as a mechanical Quality Inspector or equivalent experience.
- Self-starter, strong work ethic
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and manage in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with various Inspection methods, Coordinate Measuring Machines, NDT processes, heat treatment
- Strong resilience and tenacity - willingness to challenge others
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, supporting 8D/ 5-Way analysis technique
- Conversant in 1st principles inspection methods
- Audit experience of willingness to be taught

**Desirable Qualification & skills required for this position**
- Gear and transmission knowledge an advantage
- Working knowledge of applicable manufacturing and Quality requirements including ISO 9001, AS 9100.
- Certified ISO Auditor

**Pension**: You are automatically enrolled into the government NEST pension scheme. This is a legal requirement. You will contribute 5% of your wage, while Gibbs Gears contribute a further 3%. If you wish to use an existing pension scheme, you may opt out just after the 3 month probation has finished.
