**Why Action for Children?**

We are one of the UK's largest children's charities - you may have seen us featured in a well-known Christmas TV advert for 2022. One way we support young people is through short breaks and long stay in small residential homes located in local communities.

Are you passionate about changing the lives of children and young people to give them the best possible future?

Last year, we helped more than 671,275 children and families across the UK. Residential care is one of our key growth areas - we have an expanding nationwide network of small, family-style homes.

Through innovative care and support, we provide a safe, nurturing environment for disadvantaged children.

**A bit about the role**

Sycamore is a residential short breaks centre for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 years, with severe, profound, or multiple learning and/or physical disabilities who may have complex health care needs.

Do you have a strong background in children's residential care? Are you focused and passionate about changing the lives of children and young people for the better? We have a unique opportunity for residential staff to join our team.

**What you'll be doing**:
In the role as Residential Worker, you will be promoting Action for Children's values as well as supporting the Registered Manager, Service Coordinator and Teams Leaders to achieve positive outcomes for the young person.

**How you'll help to create brighter futures**
- Having a positive proactive outlook in providing support to children**.**:

- Taking responsibility for the personal care and the daily needs of the young person.
- Being resilient in supporting the young person through challenging situations.
- Being responsible for the safeguarding of the young person.
- Maintaining accurate records

**Let's talk about you.**

In the role of Residential Worker, we're ideally looking for someone who has:

- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent but don't worry if you do not have the qualification as we will happily provide you with the full training to gain the qualification.
- A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of working with children and young people.

Working here is so much more than a job and who knows where it'll take you Whether this is a career change for you or the next step in your journey, we'd love to hear from you.
