PBS (Semco UK) are currently recruiting for a Senior Instrument Designer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our client in the execution of various projects.

**Details/duties**:

- Review project schedules with the Job Responsible Engineer to verify that all dates and project requirements are realistic.
- Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that you can deliver the functional project requirements within time and financial parameters.
- Maintain individual project status for control and progress reporting purposes.
- Prepare and/or assist in the production of project specific standards and procedures.
- Design, produce, review, and approve full Instrument Design Deliverables to facilitate site Construction requirements, ensuring the final deliverables are of satisfactory standard and in accordance with the relevant client and company specifications.
- Complete Inter-Discipline reviews and provide comments on mechanical, Piping, Process, Structural and Electrical interface documents, and specifications where relevant.
- Review relevant Design Content of package supplier/Vendor documentation as requested by the Job responsible Instrument Engineer.
- Develop / provide input on the 3D Model to clarify instrument requirements on the model inclusive of cable racking, junction boxes, air headers and field instrument placements.
- Create, review, and approve Instrument Purchase Requisitions (PRF’s) for relevant project specific Instrument Bulk Materials.
- Create, review, and approve Instrument Bill of Materials (BOM’s).
- Perform Site Surveys (onshore & offshore) with the ability to mobilise and conduct surveys as required.
- Assist the Instrument Engineer with input into Design estimates, progress assessment and control of manpower on assigned projects.
- Liaise with Engineering to ensure Design intent on project scopes is implemented throughout.
- Perform as required and supervise As Building as required for design deliverables development.
- Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs, and service in the execution of projects.
- Engineering delivery in accordance with company and client health, safety, environmental and quality systems.
- Perform any other duties assigned within reason by the Lead Instrument Engineer.

**Qualifications/Experience required**:

- Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, Industry standards & procedures and industry technology developments.
- Ability to adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide any relevant feedback for continuous improvement
- Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
- Ability to deliver all Project documentation that is technical correct to the required standard and schedule.
- Experience within Process related industries ideally within an Engineering Service Contract environment is preferred however other industries within an instrumentation background is acceptable.
- Substantial relevant Design experience with a minimum of typically 10 years’ experience in a design role is essential. This could include time in an engineering organisation or in an operations environment.
- Extensive experience in brownfield & Greenfield projects.
- Knowledge & familiarisation with SmartPlant Instrumentation/INtools.
- Good knowledge of MS Office software is essential.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills (including dealing with other disciplines, clients, vendors and third parties) are essential.
- HNC or equivalent professional qualification with relevant experience
- Offshore Survival and medical required.
