Overview:
Due to our continued expansion we are recruiting for a HR Administrator. The HR Administrator role is designed to support the transport HR Advisor in various administrative tasks essential for the smooth functioning of HR operations. This includes assisting in the onboarding process, managing probation reviews, handling leaver processes, and responding to HR inquiries. By efficiently managing administrative duties, the HR Admin enables the HR Advisor to focus on strategic initiatives and providing effective HR support to employees and management. This role presents an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to embark on their HR journey, providing valuable hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of HR administration and operations.
Location: Wakefield site.
Shift Pattern: 20 hours (4 days a week).
**Salary**: £11,897.60.
**Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate the smooth onboarding process for new employees, using our Cornerstone HR system, verifying right to work documentation, updating relevant systems with right to work information, and ensuring Health & Safety are informed of new starters.
- Assist in the management of probationary periods, including notifying managers of upcoming reviews and tracking probation progress.
- Prepare and distribute probation outcome letters to employees upon completion of probationary periods.
- Maintain accurate employee data in the Cornerstone system.
- Handle reference requests for both employment and financial purposes using standardised templates.
- Oversee the entire leaver process, ensuring all necessary steps are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinate and execute mail merge projects for various HR communications.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provide initial assistance or escalate as necessary.
- Manage contract and information requests in compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Guide managers by directing them to relevant forms, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Generate and compile monthly/weekly reports from various sources, including forms and the Employee Relations (ER) tracker.
- Facilitate the process of obtaining references for current or former employees as required.
- Support the implementation of the NewCold Academy Project, ensuring engagement and participation from all employees.
- Act as a note-taker during meetings when necessary to document discussions and decisions accurately.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job requisitions, collaborating with managers to identify recruitment needs, and relaying information to the HR Advisor for further action.
- Support the payroll team where necessary.
**Requirements**:
- A driven individual seeking a career in HR
- Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word with database administration.
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- High level of attention to detail in order to prepare documents.
- Capable of acting as point of reference/contact for enquiries.
