We are recruiting a **Technical Specialist - Network & Security** to join the team out of Doxford Park, Sunderland. As our Technical Specialist - Network & Security, you will be responsible for the provision of technical design, implementation and support in line with business needs, departmental and group objectives. You will provide both the technical leadership and accountability for the overall success of an engagement’s technical team’s efforts including architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment for the business solution.

**Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to**:

- Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
- Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation
- Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
- Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
- Provide remote support to on-site engineers, third parties and end users/customers during installation
- Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
- Undertake capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres
- Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis

**About you**

You can demonstrate experience in a similar role, with significant network experience, supporting a large number of sites. You will have experience and working knowledge of the below:

- Checkpoint, CCSA, CCSE
- Routing and Switching CCNA, OSPF, BGP, VLan, STP
- VPN
- VMWare and Virtual Checkpoint firewall experience
- SD WAN, Meraki
- Monitoring Tools, Solarwinds
- Zscaler
- STORM
