Housing Fabrication Team Leader

**The Role**
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead by setting a good example - behaviour consistent with the Amazon Behaviours and Values.
- Act as an interface between the team and others in the business.
- Clear delivery of key messages to the team (including explanation of any goals, plans and roles).
- Reputation management.
- Manage any recruitment for the team with the assistance of HR.
- Ensure a successful induction process for new starters.
- Clearly communicate required tasks, agree deadline, and monitor achievement.
- Set and agree SMART objectives for individuals/team and monitor performance against these.
- Manage and conduct appraisal process with all permanent team members.
- Provide regular constructive feedback to individuals and the team regarding their performance.
- Address performance issues quickly, candidly and constructively.
- Manage capability and conduct issues with the assistance of HR.
- Identify training and development opportunities for the team.
- Absence management with company policy; to include sickness and annual leave.
- Promote and drive continuous improvement within the teams.
- Responsible for HSE compliance and improvement activities for the Team.
Team Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
- Operation and control of bead blasting equipment, ensuring relevant jobs are completed to set deadlines.
- Carrying out works order operations as detailed.
- Notify Housing Projects team of any issues that may prevent any set deadlines being met either for internal or subcontract work.
- Completion of works orders and location (both physically and on EFACS).
- Operation of automated welding processes.
- Operation of sheet rolling equipment.
- Production of housings and transfer to stage inspection.
- Continuous improvement or manufacturing methods for standard housing designs.
- Developing manufacturing methods for special housings.
- Involvement in equipment maintenance.
- Support of related teams in their problem-solving activities.
- Area shutdown at the end of the shift.
- Complete all documentation required by the Company administrative system accurately and on time.
- Adherence and compliance to ISO standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are always maintained in and around the production area.
**Essential**:
- Experience of working within an Engineering Workshop.
- Experience of and ability to read Engineering Drawings.
- Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience.
- Experience of employee performance management.
- Organisational Skills - personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills - leading the team, managing diverse personalities and points of view with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
- Commercial Acumen - the ability to understand company finances, resourcing and the ultimate aims of the business.
- Role Modelling - Able to demonstrate and lead on the values, initiatives and culture of the organisation.
- Coaching & Mentoring - Comfortable in developing team members and empowering staff.
- Trust - a high level of integrity with the ability to become the trusted confidante for Senior Management, unafraid of giving own opinions and expertise.
- Influencing Skills - the ability to influence at all levels and challenge without creating barriers.
**Desirable**:
- Experience of stainless steel TIG welding.
- Experience of sheet metal working (i.e. bending, rolling, forming, etc.).
- An awareness and understanding of Coded Tests.
- Stock management experience (i.e. booking in and out of parts).
- Experience of working to ISO standards.
