This might be the role for you We’re looking for a new Marketing and Communications Officer to join our small team of 4.
This is a great role for someone who is looking for variety and exposure to all areas of work - and the great opportunities for development that come with that - in a small hospice communications and marketing team. We are looking for someone who might not know all there is to know about marketing and communications, but who’s driven to learn new platforms and skills and take on responsibility in a supportive team.
Working closely with our patient services, volunteering, fundraising and retail teams, you will be a strong fit if you are a multi-tasker, are experienced working in environments that require a sensitive approach, and with the attention to detail and creativity required to produce quality, compelling and accessible content. We are looking for someone who will share our passion for the work of the hospice and the vital role we play in the community we serve.
**Overall purpose of the role**:
Producing creative collateral such as posters, digital signage, social media, photos, and videos.
Supporting the planning and delivery of online and in-person events and activities to engage the public, colleagues, volunteers, patients and their families, customers and supporters.
**We are looking for someone who**:
Wants to progress their career in marketing and communications through exposure to a range of disciplines and experiences, and is enthusiastic to learn about new digital platforms
Who writes well, ideally with previous experience of writing for different audiences and has excellent attention to detail
Has a flair for producing creative visual content with a good understanding of the importance of brand
Has a methodical approach to their work who can manage their own workload
Can effectively work with suppliers (e.g. printers and designers) to deliver projects to budget and deadline
Has some experience of administering social media accounts and/or websites or intranets
Likes to have variety in their role
Has the sensitivity to support patients and their families to effectively tell their stories
Can effectively communicate about the work of the hospice, and advocate for more open conversations about death, dying and bereavement
You will take ownership of projects supported by the team, as well as working closely with colleagues to help them deliver team-wide objectives.
