**About The Opportunity**

This is a group role heading up a dedicated GNFR procurement team, covering all PHOENIX UK businesses and will involve every aspect of procuring goods and service (except stock for re-sale) across all material spend groups that the business needs to purchase in order for the businesses to operate.

You will be expected to fully research and manage (where applicable) each material purchase spend group. There will be a high degree of liaison within the business as well as with external regulators, advisers. In addition there will also be a high degree of liaison with other pan European companies within PHOENIX to develop purchasing advantage and purchasing strategies on a European basis.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Analysis of major business costs and identification of cost saving opportunities across all indirect spend categories.

To lead the development and implementation of procurement policies and system strategies to support tendering, contracts management, spend analytics and supplier performance management.

Compilation and analysis of tender submissions for all indirect spend categories.

Negotiation of strategic, high-value contracts, renewals and framework agreements.

Regular reassessment of contract terms & conditions and related SLAs.

UK representative for European strategic sourcing projects undertaken by the PHOENIX Group.

Assessment of company processes in order to maximise efficiencies and cost savings across the business.

Participation in high profile projects and events undertaken by the business both within the UK and Europe.

Support function to ensure compliance in ISO accreditations, ESOS, CSR, GDP and any other requirements of the business.

Completion of budgets on both a departmental and business level.

Advisor of all commercial contract review processes includes drafting and reviewing of company contracts and tenders in relation to indirect spend areas.

Establishing and managing future demand and capacity planning including the development to supplier risk management.

To drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.

To line manage the GNFR Strategic Manager and GNFR Operations Manager

**Essential Skills/Experience**:
CIPS qualified and proven experience in a senior purchasing or procurement role

Demonstrate exception analytical, negotiation and numeracy skills

Aptitude in decision-making

Communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally

Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as an understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk

Strong leadership capabilities

Working knowledge of finance in terms of budgeting, cost management and risk management

In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, principle and best practices

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector is desirable but not essential for this role
