JOB TITLE: SEND Reviewing Officer

DEPARTMENT: Additional Learning Support.

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB**:
Bishop Burton College includes the Riseholme College campus and the postholder may be required to carry out duties at both campuses.
The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken as an indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post. The list does not represent either priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post holder in consultation with and agreement of their line manager.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Arranging, chairing and interpretating annual reviews and consultations for students who have Education, Health and Care plans.
2. Completing relevant paperwork within legal timescales for the reviews.
3. Liaising with key stakeholders both internally and across external education, health and social care agencies.
4. Ensure effective and timely administration across the department.
5. Seek and act upon feedback from stakeholders relevant to the service.
6. Ensure effective communications both internally and externally.
7. Actively contributing to the achievement of the key performance indicators for the Additional Learning Support team.
8. Supporting the Learning Support Managers as required.
9. Undertaking any key training and ensuring that skills are developed and maintained.
10. Take part in all staff College events such as Lambing Sunday and Open Farm Sunday

**Qualifications & Training**

A degree level qualification in a relevant area such as education, health or social care.

Additional training around meeting the needs of students who have a special education need or disability.

Additional training around delivering provision in line with the Equality Act and the SEND Code of Practice.

**Experience**

Working within Education or a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities team/service.
Chairing annual reviews or multi agency meetings and supporting the monitoring of provision.

Experience of contribution to the development of a service to meet a client need.

Experience of collating data and keeping reports updated.

**Skills & Special Knowledge**

Ability to chair reviews or multi agency meetings with students,
parent/carers and other stakeholders.

Knowledge of the responsibilities of the college in regards to annual review processes and the importance of adhering to legislative timescales.

Ability to prioritise daily work tasks within a fast paced team environment. Ability to liaison professionally with a range of stakeholders, including students, parents and carers.

Knowledge of Child Protection Issues

Able to form & maintain appropriate relationships & personal boundaries with young people
