Description

The start date for this position is in early 2024 - date to be determined

Responsibilities Include

Working at our offsite facilities predominately Immingham Pipeline Centre with potential to work at our other facilities such as Humber Refinery, Tetney Oil Terminal or Gas Caverns.

Demonstrating awareness and commitment to safety

Maintaining equipment and operations

Taking samples/readings of various process streams

Operating unit consoles

Monitoring and observing assigned area for abnormal conditions and emergency situations

Working with outside contractors and agencies

Participating in safety reviews

Initiating work orders and permitting for work related to the assigned unit.

Maintaining proper and safe process operations of the operating equipment

Participating in annual training refreshers

Upholding company values, understanding and implementing all relevant company policies and procedures to ensure all work meets the required standard

The role will also require adaptability and flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant.

Position Requirements

Must have at least 4 GCSEs/'O' Levels at Grade A-C (new grades 5 plus) 2 of which must be in Math's and English or equivalent higher qualification (Should you progress to interview stage you will be asked to provide proof that you have met the required education requirements, so must be able to produce originals of your examination certificates. Should you need to order replacement certificates they can take up to 4 weeks to arrive.)

Full, current, valid UK drivers’ license

**Must be willing & able to**:
Work rotating 8 hour shift pattern and be willing to change to a 12 hour shift pattern in the future which includes working weekends and bank holidays

Understand and follow both written and verbal instructions given in English

Worked with and experience of computer systems

Work in confined spaces i.e., tanks and silos, near large, hot, high-speed machines and products under high pressure or temperature

Work around chemicals, including acids and bases

Wear PPE such as protective footwear, ear/eye protection and breathing apparatus

Remove facial hair so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly

Perform fire-fighting duties

Work outside in all weather conditions

Take and successfully pass the City & Guilds qualification as requested for the position. Coursework will be carried out in your own time, but all course fees will be paid for by the Company.

The Humber Refinery is playing its part of the UK’s decarbonisation efforts.

As a part of the UK Government’s net zero ambition, the Humber Refinery is on a journey to become the Refinery of the Future. With proposed plans for a number of projects including to implement a first-of-a-kind FCC carbon capture project, the Humber Refinery is part of Humber Zero, a world-scale concept to reduce UK industry carbon emissions, saving up to 8 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 from the Immingham industrial area.

On top of this, the Humber Refinery is the UK’s only refiner producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at scale. It is also the only European facility producing battery anode coke, which forms a critical component for lithium-ion batteries used in electrical vehicles and in consumer electronics. Our current production of battery anode coke is equivalent to placing 1.3 million EVs on the road every year, and we are developing multiple projects to expand this capability.
