DESCRIPTION

The  Piping Designer  role is responsible for creating detailed designs and layouts of piping systems for the Humber Refinery and offsite facilities. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations. You will be required to work as directed to produce quality piping isometrics and engineering layout drawings for Routine Maintenance, Turnarounds and Projects in accordance with Phillips 66 Engineering Standards.

Responsibilities may include:

Role model for company values Resource for support to the Refinery  Carrying out site visits across the P66 Refinery and satellite areas to review work scope from MOC, Memos and SAP notifications. Carrying various piping activities such as site measuring, pipe routing and equipment layouts. Communications with Engineers/ Operations and Execution Teams to determine effective constructability. Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects. Review existing information from SAP, EIMS, and Standard Engineering data to assist with the drawing development. Execution of assigned work in accordance with P66 Required Standards, Refinery Engineering Practices and Legacy Local Standards. Preparation of piping GA’s, isometric drawings plot plans and elevations. Survey and produce design drawings for like for like equipment replacements and equipment modifications. Ensuring designs meet project requirement and adhere to P&IDs when designing pipework drawings. Ensuring technical accuracy of drawings including materials and quantities. Carry out revisions to the drawings as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

Basic/Required:

Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions Technical or Engineering qualification . City & Guilds, S/NVQ Level 3 or HIGHER Previous experience in piping design, ideally in an operating facility Good level of experience working in AutoCAD and MS products; TEAMS, Work Excel and Outlook. Demonstrate proficient skills in AutoCAD 2018. Proficient in understanding petrochemical piping specifications with a strong emphasis on undertaking site surveys. Strong knowledge of piping equipment and piping components used in the Oil and Gas Industry. To have a good understanding and experience of working within safe working practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Full, valid UK driving licence Good written and oral communication skills Effective time management skills Team Player

Preferred:

Experience in 3D CAD software and scanning equipment Previous experience of working in the Petrochemical industry

The Humber Refinery is playing its part of the UK’s decarbonisation efforts.


As a part of the UK Government’s net zero ambition, the Humber Refinery is on a journey to become the Refinery of the Future. With proposed plans for a number of projects including to implement a first-of-a-kind FCC carbon capture project, the Humber Refinery is part of Humber Zero, a world-scale concept to reduce UK industry carbon emissions, saving up to 8 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 from the Immingham industrial area.


On top of this, the Humber Refinery is the UK’s only refiner producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at scale. It is also the only European facility producing battery anode coke, which forms a critical component for lithium-ion batteries used in electrical vehicles and in consumer electronics. Our current production of battery anode coke is equivalent to placing 1.3 million EVs on the road every year, and we are developing multiple projects to expand this capability.
