**Location**: Stockton with travel to Bishop Auckland

**Salary**:£22,000 FTE, £16,000 for 30 hours

**Hours**:30 hrs per week

**Reporting to**: Fundraising & Communications Manager

Butterwick Hospice Care is looking for a creative and organised individual with bags of energy and enthusiasm to take our communications to the next level. You will need to be proactive, highly organised and creative in order to develop and deliver engaging communications campaigns to a wide variety of audiences.

This exciting and varied role will involve creating engaging copy for a variety of mediums aimed at a diverse audience, act as our brand ambassador ensuring proper use of our branding across all mediums, assisting with the creative concept planning of all communications and delivering key messaging to internal and external stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities
- Establish and deliver an internal communications strategy in conjunction with the Senior Leadership team.
- Ensure organisational initiatives are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.
- Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as the monthly information exchange updates.
- Create and deliver content for external press sources outlining key organisations updates and information.
- Develop a strong network of external press agents that can help us convey our key messages to a wide and relevant audience.
- Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organisation.
- Support the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation.
- Ensure the Butterwick Hospice Care brand is consistently applied and communicated to internal and external audiences.
- Gather content from across our sites and services, forming strong relationships with internal departments and stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness PR initiatives to ensure that they are meeting agreed objectives.

**Personal Specification**

**Experience**

**Essential-**Exceptional communication and networking skills with proven ability to develop relationships.

Understanding of GDPR and data protection.

Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office, databases and bespoke systems.

Experience in a communications team dealing with external and/or internal communications.

General journalistic or marketing experience.

Experience of writing for a variety of audiences.

Ability to convey complex messages in a positive and factual light to varying audiences.

Ability to communicate effectively and develop excellent working relationships.

Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
