**The Role**:
Provide financial leadership & support to the Severn Trent Water Account Director & wider teams, to drive sustainable and profitable performance of the business contract. Strive for constant improvement to raise standards in key decisions areas, taking a forward-looking and commercial view to influence decisions. This is a full time permanent role and is of hybrid working nature working from home and our offices in either Chorley, Derby or Telford.

**Responsibilities**:
Drive planning processes for the contract, including the setting of annual targets, subsequent budget and 5-year strategic plans

Facilitate and challenge peers and other functional team members to deliver / over deliver the financial performance targets monthly, quarterly and annually with actionable risk mitigation plans in place

Ensuring detailed plans with clear ownership are in place to deliver against profit and cash targets

Champion the efficiency agenda, being relentless in driving opportunities to drive greater efficiency into all aspects of the business

Demonstrate leadership on cashflow management, ensuring that accurate forecasts are maintained and adhered to with relevant reporting to evidence accuracy

Ensure bids/ re bids have strong financial governance in place, clear understanding of profit & cashflow drivers and sensitivities - influence the same to provide organisational confidence

Ensure that there is transparency and good communication around the financial wellbeing of the contract

**Skills & Experience**:
Experience in a similar position with business partnering would be beneficial
Strong academic record of achievement - A Level / Degree or equivalent educated (preferred)

On path to Finance qualification (CIMA preferred) / or qualified, linked to seniority of role and scale of contracts to be managed

Strong knowledge / advanced skills for Microsoft Excel

Relevant sector experience i.e. outsourced service industries

Good knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations and reporting requirements including experience of forecasting / budgeting

Experience and knowledge of Finance ERP and/or OLAP systems

Commercial finance / business partnering role (preferable) or senior level finance manager experience in career to date

Worked in complex matrixed plc type organisations
