The Groups and Events Officer will be at the centre of the organisation's co-ordination of member groups and organisation of official events.

You will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals, members and volunteers and to assist in the effective management and operation of Group activities.

You will be able to organise your time effectively, demonstrating effective event organisation and the ability to use your initiative for solving problems.

Whilst this role is home based you will be willing to travel often all over Wales to attend events, including on weekends and evenings and for work-related meetings as required.

In addition to organising events you will be expected to attend many of them as a staff member and official representative of YesCymru, including but not limited to, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, Eisteddfod yr Urdd, the YesCymru annual Conference and numerous other YesCymru panel events and discussions. Having ideas and inspiration on how to widen the scope and array of events Yes Cymru can attend, whether nationally or locally is key to spreading the word about our organisation and independence amongst different demographics.

**Core Duties and Responsibilities**:
Assisting in the setup of new YesCymru groups to ensure full geographic coverage for Wales.

Coordinating groups and volunteers to maximise their contribution to campaigns.

Assisting groups with ideas and implementation of activities and tools in their local campaigns.

Ensuring groups and volunteers understand the core messaging and provide a consistent voice for the organisation across Wales, albeit with a local emphasis tailored for their areas.

Providing training and guidance to groups and volunteers where appropriate.

Overseeing the overall planning, management and execution of events.

Setting up and delivering events.

Periodic contributions to various internal administrative tasks e.g. minute taking

Other general duties not included above but which will be in line with the role.
- Prior experience of event management is desirable
- Excellent and effective interpersonal skills are essential
- Experience in supporting volunteers through quality Volunteer Management practices is desirable
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload efficiently without supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good understanding of AV and production will be beneficial
- Methodical, meticulous and structured approach to your everyday tasks
- Ability to anticipate needs, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Willingness to take initiative and to adopt a ‘can-do’ and flexible attitude
- Have experience of working on Live, Virtual and Hybrid events - desirable
- Event Merchandise experience in researching, sourcing and presenting is beneficial
- Overseeing set up, planning, management and execution of events organised such as but not limited to Yes Cymru's annual Conference and numerous other YesCymru panel events, discussions, stalls.
- Liaising with but not limited to, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol, Eisteddfod yr Urdd and other local and national events where Yes Cymru will be represented
- Attendance at events as a staff member and official representative of YesCymru,
- Developing ideas and inspiration on how to widen the scope and array of events Yes Cymru can attend

- Some fluency in Welsh, written and spoken, is highly desirable for this role
- A reasonable level of computer literacy is required, familiarity with Nationbuilder is desirable (but not essential as training will be provided)
