Within the legal department of DP World, working from the Regional headoffice for Europe in London, we have an opening for a **Head of Legal | Logistics - Europe**, with good extensive knowledge of commercial law and an equal amount of hands-on experience. You will guide, advise and assist regional management over a broad range of legal matters with a focus on the (Contract) Logistics pillar. This role can be based in our regional Head Office in London or in one of our other existing locations in Europe. You will be required to travel abroad as and when the business needs it. You are a key member of the European leadership team and DP World Group Legal team.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Provide effective, reliable and user-friendly support, advice and assistance to the European region leadership team and senior managers within DP World Europe on legal matters affecting any aspect of DP World’s business in Europe, but with a focus on the Logistics pillar.
- Lead the Logistics legal team within the European region, including in Germany, Netherlands, UK and Poland and advise on complex transactional, commercial, HR, works council and compliance/regulatory issues in the European region across the various Logistics industries and provide on-the-ground board and company secretarial support to the Logistics business in Europe.
- Analyze material disputes, and determine and implement strategy to be followed in each case.
- Advise on regulatory matters impacting DP World in Europe and work closely with Group and Regional Compliance on anti-bribery, anti-trust, sanctions and data privacy matters.
- Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged European legal team, promoting collaboration and managing the forum for discussing issues, coordinating activities, and resolving legal or compliance problems identified in the European region and managing legal expenditure.
- Formulate and/or update and implement Regional policies and procedures as needed to ensure that business operations are compliant with all internal and external requirements.
- Maintain strong links with external legal counsel. Assist with the selection of appropriate external legal counsel for work that is to be outsourced. Manage external legal spend for projects for which the job holder has day to day responsibility.
- Act as a liaison between commercial colleagues and external legal counsel. Provide external legal counsel with clear and explicit instructions. Oversee and review work carried out by external legal counsel.
- Provide effective reporting to the Regional CEO and Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel.
- Ensure that any future direct reports are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

**Requirements**:

- Law Degree from an accredited university.
- Qualification to practice law from a recognised legal regulatory body.
- Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in an internationally recognised law firm and/ or multinational company.
- Knowledge of cross-border corporate and commercial transactions, and experience of managing transactions through to completion. Ideally, knowledge and experience of international infrastructure projects.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of business needs (including awareness and sensitivity to differing international legal and cultural business practices, and the flexibility to work within different cultural environments).
- Senior leadership/management experience with significant C-suite interaction.
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to effectively negotiate legal issues and transaction documentation with counterparties.
- Good communication, fluent in English and inter personal skills.
