Wrexham, United Kingdom Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Full time

Prehabilitation is being established in North Wales We are looking for a hardworking, dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join and lead a new service at band 7 level, getting patients fitter and stronger prior to their major surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new state of the art specialist prehabilitation unit. Coming from either a physiotherapy or dietetic background, with experience at band 6 level, you will be an integral member of a core team of seven therapy staff creating bespoke exercise, diet and psychology programs for each patient helping them prepare for surgery.

Harnessing the unique opportunity to improve unhealthy lifestyles, you will support patients through intensive multidisciplinary face to face sessions in a new purpose built prehab unit. This has a fully equipped gym, patient classrooms and remote video links for virtual programs for those unable to travel. Your interventions will not only dramatically reduce complications from surgery but you will also be improving patients’ long term health as they adopt new healthier lifestyles.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as the Therapy Team Leader for the new Prehabilitation Team in the East Area. Whilst being predominantly hands on clinical, helping and supervising other team members to create and deliver bespoke programs to optimise patients, the post holder will also work alongside other therapy team leaders and integrate with the perioperative medicine team to ensure the efficient running of the prehabilitation service in the East Area of BCUHB.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
