Job Title: Premises Officer

Location: Newham, London

Employment Type: Full-time

Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Premises Officer to join our team at a secondary school in Newham. The Premises Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and maintenance of the school premises, as well as providing support for various facilities management tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting regular inspections of the school premises to identify and address any maintenance or health and safety issues
- Overseeing the security of the school buildings and grounds, including monitoring access control systems and responding to security incidents
- Coordinating and supervising external contractors for maintenance and repair work
- Managing the school's facilities, including setting up rooms for events and ensuring equipment is in working order
- Responding to emergency situations, such as fire alarms or building evacuations, in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication purposes

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: £15.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
