**Purpose**

The main purpose of the job role is to provide vital support to our accounting team and assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Overall, the position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to details and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

**Responsibilities**

**Principal Accountabilities**
- **Accounts Payable and Receivable**: Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments and collections. Maintain records of financial transactions and update accounting systems accordingly.
- **Expense Management**: Assist in managing employee expense reports, verifying receipts, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- **Financial Data Entry**:Accurately enter financial data into the accounting software or spreadsheets. Check for errors, reconcile discrepancies, and make necessary corrections.
- **Bank Reconciliations**: Reconcile monthly bank statements with the general ledger. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise during the reconciliation process.
- **Financial Reporting**: Assist in preparing various financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used in these reports.
- **Assistance in Audits**: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documents, locating required information, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- **Record Maintenance**: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring proper filing and documentation of financial transactions, invoices, receipts, and other relevant information.
- **Communication**:Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to obtain necessary financial information and resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues.
- **Compliance**: Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations, standards, and company policies to ensure compliance in all financial processes and reporting.
- **Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

**Other Duties**
- Ensuring Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times.
- Any other reasonable request from the Manager or Director.

**Day-to-Day Operation**
- Taking care of administrative task like correspondence, filing and printing
- In control of utilities and meter readings, regular completion of bank reconciliation
- Preparing and entering journal into the system.
- Supporting in preparation of VAT returns
- Adhere to all Company Policy & procedures at all times
- Carry out any reasonable additional duties as outlined by your line manager
- You will need to build strong working relationships with the following stakeholders: Central/Head Office Team, Regional Business Development Team & Logistic Head and support service contacts; Third party supplier representatives; the Sales team /customer/ builder’s/ developers or any end user

**Knowledge & Qualifications**

**Essential**
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification or education in accounting or finance is a plus).
- Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
- Excellent verbal communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co-Workers.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to function well as part of a team.
- Diligent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility.

**Desirable**

Experience (1-2 years) as an accounting assistant, bookkeeper, or similar role.

**Experience & Skills**
- Experience within the Trade and/or Retail sector
- Organisational and time management skill
- Communication/interpersonal skills

**Hours &**

**Geographical**
- We operate from 9:00am till 5:00pm
- The location of work will be Chessington
- Ad-hoc travel to other locations for training and development
- Attend training & meetings

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £23,500.00 per year
