**The vacancy**

We are currently recruiting for a Rostering & Scheduling Officer to manage the day-to-day staffing of the Manston site, ensuring daily Minimum Staffing Levels are met. This will involve stringent oversight of the rostering of staff working at Manston as maintaining correct levels of staffing is key to MTC's delivery of a safe and decent environment for staff, service users and visitors onsite at Manston Secure Facility.

Though this is advertised as a Rostering & Scheduling Officer, the official title for this position is Detail Officer.

MTCs mission is to provide a safe, secure, caring, and compassionate welfare and security service to detained people at Manston. Our service users are new arrivals who have crossed the channel hoping to claim asylum in the UK, and we support them whilst their asylum process gets underway.

**The role**

Supporting the onsite operations function, the Detail Officer will be responsible for the preparation of advanced rotas to ensure staffing levels for all departments are always maintained, anticipate any shortfalls in the staffing and cover them using overtime, shift swaps and TOIL to ensure Minimum Staffing Levels (MSL) are achieved. You would be an excellent verbal and written communicator as well as demonstrate the ability to manage complex/sensitive data and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

**Experience and Skills Required**
- Experience in managing data (including sensitive data), record keeping and database management.
- Experience in scheduling a workforce with a 24/7 operational requirement.
- Experience of producing management information reports for both internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in managing interdependent relationships within an organisation in order to fulfil staffing and resource requirements.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of data protection legislation
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal as well as excellent stakeholder management
- Confident in producing numerical and written reports.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Ability to build positive working relationships.

Requirement to undergo Counterterrorism (CTC) clearance is essential for this role - the postholder must meet the eligibility criteria.
