The ONE Group are looking for a skilled and experienced and skilled **Principal Mechanical Technician** to work in close liaison with research and teaching staff in one of these workshops. The position is based in Cambridge city centre and comeswith a LOT of perks.
**This role will be full of variety**:
- Supervising students' practical skills
- Design and manufacture of equipment and projects
- Ensuring equipment is being used safely and correctly
**And you should be able to offer the following**:
- Good standard of general education
- A sound manual machining and fitting background in an engineering environment
- Specialist within a wide range of mechanical machine and workshop equipment, including manual machines, XYX NC milling machines, etc
- Experience with CAD, Electronic/Electrical engineering would be a big plus
- Ability to design, specify and manufacture a range of precision mechanical parts and systems
- Ability to clearly explain and demonstrate technical principles
- Good communication and IT skills
- UK based
