**Temporary Private Sector Housing Officer**

**Pay Rate: £16.05 per hour PAYE**
**This opening assignment is for 3 months**
**Main Responsibilities**:

- Input and deliver appropriate areas of the Corporate Strategy and associated policies and plans.
- Provide technical input to corporate projects and strategic programmes.
- Deliver a specialist, professional service with high standards of advice and support and resolving cases of varying complexity as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, legislation, professional codes of practice and adherence to Council policy.
- Support, guide and advise the case management team, customer services and mobile locality teams delivering the service on less complex cases.
- Specify and manage projects, budgets and contracts that deliver community and corporate objectives.

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent or qualified by strong relevant experience.
- Relevant qualification or qualified by track record of relevant experience.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Professional competence / expertise and proven experience in the relevant specialism(s).
- Assisting in planning and delivering projects/ programmes.
- Preparation and presentation of reports.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Excellent Knowledge of services provided across the councils.
- Detailed Knowledge of current housing and related legislation including, the Housing Act 2004, the Regulatory Reform Order 2005 and the Deregulation Act 2015.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal to include report writing, presentation and influencing skills.
- Good working knowledge of legislation and developments within the specialism.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
