**About the Role**:
Scott Park Surgery has an opportunity for a receptionist/typist to join our team on a
** **part-time basis for 15 hours per week - hours to be worked as below:

- Monday 13:30 - 16:30
- Tuesday 09:00 - 12:00
- Wednesday 08:00 - 11:00
- Thursday 15:45 - 18:45
- Friday 08:30 - 11:30

Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues

The main duties will include:

- typing referral letters and medical reports.
- answering telephone calls.
- making appointments.
- filing,
- data inputting,
- issuing repeat prescriptions.
- responding to queries and requests for assistance from patients / visitors.
- general reception/admin duties as required.
- Touch typing skills - essential.
- Audio typing skills - desirable.
- Previous GP experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- Confidence to work as part of a team and ability to "think on your feet".
- Strong IT and administration skills.

Scott Park Surgery is a small-sized surgery looking after 2700 patients. We are a friendly team with a supportive group of clinicians and admin staff.
