GP Medical Practice Receptionist at The Glebe Family Practice

Highly regarded and well run doctors surgery in the heart of Gillingham Kent seeks a kind, friendly and well organised person to work in reception and undertake administrative tasks as part of a team. Training, support and opportunities for developing the role offered.

**General Duties**
- To provide cover for colleagues as required.
- To welcome and receive patients.
- To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- To provide support as required to all users of the practice.
- To ensure all appropriate colleagues are aware of any information which needs to be passed from one shift to another.
- To answer telephone queries and make telephone calls to patients, as required.
- To make appointments on the clinical computer system.
- To add data to the clinical records as directed.
- To open, and sort all post.
- To add data to the clinical records as directed.
- To get out and file patient records.
- To receive specimens from patients, ensuring dispatch to Path laboratory within timescales.
- To receive payments including cash, cheques and record details.
- To arrange patient transport as appropriate and note when ambulances are ordered.
- To maintain a tidy and welcoming waiting area for patients.
- To ensure consulting rooms are kept tidy and stock replenished.
- To take part in internal and external training, courses and meetings, as required.
- To make tea and coffee as required.
- Any other duties commensurate with skills and experience.

**Hours**: 36 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with shifts between 8:00am - 6:00pm

**Salary**: Depending on experience
