**Job summary**:
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. As such using data to aid understanding of our workforce is vital.

Are you looking for a challenge? We, at the Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command (ARITC), are looking for an executive officer to welcome into our busy and exciting organisation. We are responsible for soldier and officer inflow into the Army, with this role focusing and supporting the initial training of Army Reservists.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
You will support the initial training of Army Reservists through management of the course loading system, funding and other tasking enabling the delivery of Army Reserve initial training. Main responsibilities will include:

- You will manage the booking process for specified training courses and liaise with other training sites.
- Resolve course eligibility issues and authorise waivers as required.
- Communicate with Army Reserve units to maximise course loading.
- You will develop and maintain course performance data to help improve output.
- You will work closely in the development of the Army Reserve Initial Training pipeline.
- Maintain and develop relevant ARITC Army Reserve on-line systems.
- Manage specific Army Reserve training budgets using our systems to create and manage training activities as required.
- Maintain actual and forecasts of spend including investigating variations as necessary.

**Person specification**:
Essential:

- Proficient in our relevant bespoke information technology systems, appropriate training will be provided.

Desirable:

- Ability to use MS office products - mainly Word and Excel.
- Ability to work unsupervised and independent of work colleagues whilst engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Enthusiastic and committed to service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Ability to cope well under pressure, be flexible and assertive.
