We have an exciting opportunity for an individual, motivated to enhance patient care, to join our community speech and language therapy team as a Speech and language assistant practitioner.

We are a supportive and welcoming team of SLTs working across the CCICP footprint. You will deliver communication and swallowing therapy programmes under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist and provide clinical administrative support within the team. The team provides clinical intervention for adults with a wide range of acquired neurological conditions including Parkinson's disease, MS, MND, stroke and dementia

You will need strong interpersonal and communication skills and ideally have previous experience of working independently with people with complex/long-term conditions in the community setting. Strong interdisciplinary working relationships are encouraged with the aim of providing access to the right care, in the right place, at the right time for all in the local population.
- Ability to work single handed with individual patients in a supported environment working under the supervision of qualified staff
- Ability to carry out clinical administrative and housekeeping duties
- Skills in delivering therapy programmes
- Ability to adapt programmes to meet the changing needs of the clients with reference to the supervising therapist
- Ability to support and motivate patients as appropriate
- Ability to carry out and complete delegated project
- Ability to travel to various settings, hospital, clinic and community / Car Driver

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
