**Role Summary**

Student Administration within Registry is primarily responsible for the progression of students from Registration to Graduation, and the maintenance of their associated student records. This will include all of our compliance obligations and managing the process involved in students making this journey.

This is a key role in the Student Administration section in Registry. The post holder will provide policy and operational management within Registry and across Colleges.

**Main Duties**
- Undertaking the full range of management responsibilities including the day-to-day line management of designated team members, staff recruitment, induction, staff development, taking responsibility for the quality and professionalism of the team’s work, managing workloads and undertaking performance management where required.
- As a member of the senior management team, provide leadership and operational management support for the team and wider sub-division. This would include contributing to the development and implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the team, ensuring that staff are fully trained and confident in all aspects of their roles, promoting the development of the team and individuals through Team Meetings, Away Days, and encouraging a culture of effective team working, allowing opportunities for staff to provide feedback and make suggestions on improvements to service.
- Taking a lead role in managing key operational processes in the academic cycle, for example examination, progression and award processing, degree congregation activity, document production and start of session activity.
- To participate in or take the lead responsibility for developmental projects and reviews of existing IT, non-IT systems and working processes. This may involve managing events or projects, and taking responsibility for significant elements, for example writing and reviewing project documentation and co-ordinating testing. This will include engagement with institution-wide change programmes and reviews.
- Providing advice to stakeholders on complex student cases, based on a thorough understanding of relevant University Regulations, Policies and Student support services.
- To co-ordinate the management of activities that ensure student record data is accurate and fit for purpose and that robust processes are maintained to ensure a consistently high level of data quality. Providing support and leadership as required to address data quality concerns and issues, both internally to Registry and with wider University stakeholders.
- To co-ordinate and lead on compliance related activity, managing accurate and timely statutory data returns to agencies which include UK Visas and Immigration, Student Loans Company, Apprenticeships, and to facilitate the returns to Higher Education Statistics Agency, working in partnership with other stakeholders.
- Leading on implementing revisions to existing processes and introducing new processes, to maintain compliance within procedures so that reporting obligations to agencies such as UKVI can be met. This will necessitate keeping informed of changes to legislation introduced by external agencies.
- Management of processes related to collaborative partnerships with other institutions, and with third party companies, for example software suppliers for document production. Maintaining productive working relationships with partners to ensure compliance and a positive student experience.
