Support Time and Recovery Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Support, Time and Recovery (STR) worker to join our dynamic Early Intervention in Psychosis Team in Bolton.
The Early Intervention in Psychosis Team (EIT) works with people who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. It is a multidisciplinary team supporting consisting of staff from a variety of disciplines, including nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and psychology.
One of the key aims of the team is to reduce the duration of untreated psychosis. We achieve this through offering full care-coordination, evidence based group and individual psychological interventions (including cognitive behavioural therapy and Family Interventions), support with medication management, support with accessing employment, education and vocational activities and support for families and carers.
The role of the STR worker is integral to supporting a person on their recovery journey, by providing Support, and giving Time to engage them in their Recovery and promote health and well-being in line with their care plan, under the direction of the Care Coordinator/Occupational Therapist/Team Leader.
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting service users to achieve their goals as part of their recovery journey.
To advocate for service users and enable access to resources such as housing, education, employment, training and benefits.
To help service users to achieve their goals by supporting and encouraging them using brief interventions and low level psychosocial interventions.
To liaise with other agencies in order to support service users achieve their goals.
To support service users before, during, and after appointments, meetings, and planned activities to reduce anxiety and develop confidence in order to encourage independence.
To provide practical support to service users with regards to daily living, benefits, education, training, employment, and housing.
To facilitate therapeutic group work activities for service users when required.
To engage with families and carers as appropriate as part of service users recovery journey.
To help to identify early signs of relapse and to alert the appropriate staff involved in the service users care.
To keep the Care Coordinator/Occupational Therapist/Team Leader informed of all service users developments.
To contribute to the updating of service users records to inform the assessment, care planning and review process.
