**About the role**

At Macmillan we’re embarking on a journey to more intentionally build relationships with communities who experience cancer, to work with them directly to shape our long-term priorities. We recognise that providing an equal seat at the table for those with lived experiences is critical to the quality and legitimacy of our work. As part of this journey, the Lived Experience Team is working to make sure that participation is being delivered to the highest standard.

In this role, you will work with key internal stakeholders across the organisation to design and lead on the most effective ways to ensure that that the lived experiences of communities inform the delivery of our strategic work. You will drive innovation and best practice principles of participation - ensuring we prioritise and translate organisational demands into exceptional, inclusive and user led experience for diverse groups of people living with cancer. Whilst the role will involve some direct engagement with people living with cancer, you will focus on partnering with Macmillan teams to understand internal business demands and achieve organisational excellence in delivering meaningful participation opportunities.

The role will strengthen collaboration across different teams including Strategy, Innovation, Services, Partnerships, Advocacy, Communications, Customer Journey, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion - embedding agile participation for people living with cancer in ‘live’ projects and the employee lifecycle and identifying routes to align and deepen user experience.

**About you**
- You are a passionate advocate of working in partnership and empowering communities with lived experience to meaningfully contribute towards systemic change within society.
- Exceptional people and relationship-building skills.
- Expertise in how to build and use systems and processes which ensure a rigorous focus on business needs and high quality experiences of engagement within a team.
- You will demonstrate a track record in changing how organisations deliver participation in line with equitable principles. This may also include experience in community engagement / organising principles.
- You can confidently manage projects from inception through to project closure, with a focus on high-quality delivery in line with best practice and a continuous commitment to monitoring, evaluating, and learning.

**About us**

Our values are at the heart of who we are and everything we do, inspiring our thinking and guiding our actions.

We are striving to do everything we can to ensure that our workforce is representative of the people we support, and those who support us. We advocate for being an inclusive organisation, where everyone can feel that they belong and where there are no barriers to success.

We want every individual to feel empowered to bring their best to work. That’s why we offer a range of flexible working patterns, such as compressed hours and flexibility to work earlier or later around our core working hours of 10am-4pm. We welcome a conversation about how these options can best support you.
