The Accounts Assistant will support the Financial Controller, and play an integral part in the day to day running of the business.

The Company comprises a core team, including the majority of the senior executives and co-founders based on Euston Road, London, with a further team based in Germany and a US subsidiary. The London-based Finance team provide a centralised service for boththe UK, German and US teams. The majority of this role will be "hands-on" processing of financial transactions including accounts payable, expenses, payroll and VAT, as well as support to the team for monthly closings and other activities. The role will requireflexibility, strong attention to detail and an entrepreneurial outlook. The Company is presently using Xero for its reporting.

**Roles and responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Financial Controller, other members of the finance function and the wider company
- Record and reconcile all bank transactions, on a weekly basis
- Weekly coding and processing of Purchase Ledger invoices in Dext
- Ensure PO system is implemented and adhered to, matching invoices from suppliers with purchase orders
- Prepare weekly supplier payments by BACS, ensuring payments are properly authorised, evidenced, accurately recorded and supplier accounts are settled within agreed terms
- Prepare HMRC payments and intercompany bank transfers for authorisation using the online banking system
- Process monthly staff expenses to ensure all receipts are provided and costs conform to company policy
- Process company credit card statements, including monitoring and analysis of expenditure
- Respond to and investigate supplier queries, progressing issues to a successful conclusion in a timely manner
- Reconcile creditor accounts and complete aged creditor reporting on a monthly basis
- Assist with month end journals for accruals, prepayments, intercompany charges, fixed assets and payroll
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review by the Financial Controller
- Assist with Audit preparation
- Ensure all filing is completed immediately for every task
- Bi-annually assisting in budgeting and forecasting
- Ad hoc requests for analysis

**Required experience, skills**:

- Part-qualified accountant
- Relevant experience gained within industry
- High quality academic background
- Experience of having worked in an SME
- Attentive to detail, data integrity and accuracy
- Fast paced, ambitious and with the desire to develop both their study and their operational experience
- Able to interact with colleagues across the business
- Able to prioritise work activity and manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced, ever changing environment
- Embraces new technology and ways of working more effectively
