An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Endoscopy Unit for an experienced Team Leader looking to develop their skills.

The applicant must have acute attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to lead, often under pressure.

An understanding or experience with hospital bookings, patient centre care and leadership are essential. The applicant must have a can-do attitude towards problem solving and an interest in streamlining service performance. A positive and collaborative manner is key to working in the NHS environment.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the coordinator team, undertaking appraisals, identifying and addressing training needs and ensuring there is a robust and consistent service at all times. You will facilitate a working environment which fosters effective and respectful working to support the overall performance of the unit. Participating in regular data collation and managing the timely rescheduling of last minute urgent changes to patient bookings. In addition, you will lead on the management and reporting of the Endoscopy Planned and active waitlists, ensuring patients are booking in line with national standards and Cancer wait times. You will work closely with the Endoscopy Nursing team, ensuring timely pre-assessment bookings are made and communicated to patients, following up on attended appointments and supporting the nursing team with rescheduling missed appointments as a priority to avoid cancelled procedures.

- Responsible for a small team, ensuring effective day-to-day administrative support to facilitate the smooth running of the Endoscopy Admissions Service using both own initiative as well as direction from senior colleagues and medical professionals.
- Provide a high-quality service by ensuring the most effective use of resources and meeting Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation standards.
- To ensure all endoscopy procedure appointments and pre-assessment appointments are booked using both the Endobase and EPR systems efficiently and timely, with an emphasis on patient care, liaising with patients and / or their families / carers and dealing with enquiries as they arise.
