Teaching Personnel currently have an exciting opportunity seeking to appoint an excellent Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic about, and ideally has experience of, working with students with special educational needs.

Experience, training and qualification:

- Previous experience working within a school with SEN pupils would be beneficial but not essential
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or further additional SEN Qualifications would be an advantage
- Ability to think quickly & without supervision
- Confident when working with small groups or 1 to 1
- Strong behaviour management skills while creating an interactive learning environment
- Be caring, patient and have good communication skills
- A willingness to develop your skill set through relevant CPD

About the school:
The school is set in the Peckham area and supports children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The school aims to empower pupils with self-confidence, developing their ability to respect others and themselves. This empowermentwill help pupils learn to manage their emotional and behavioural difficulties in a range of settings and situations.

About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working directly with young people in the classroom every day. You’ll help them learn, monitor their work and help raise their self-esteem. It’s not just about academic achievement; we want them to feel accepted and confidentin their abilities. You’ll need to be very resilient and dedicated to the wellbeing of our young people. Your support can be invaluable to teachers and young people, which means it’s very rewarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
