Established reputable Tour Operator are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join their successful commercial team, focusing on their long-haul product. This is a highly desirable role with a great opportunity to continue and further their market positionfor long-haul product. This role is suited to someone who has worked for a tour operator, has previous Product Management and/or Hotel Contracting experience in long haul markets and you will be happy to travel when required, be a great ambassador for thebrand and excel at forging and maintaining great relationships with all of our UK trade partners. With a starting salary of circa £35k pa (negotiable / dependent on experience) and an comprehensive benefits package, you will work on a hybrid basis (officeis near Cambridge, though they could also consider applicants able to work on a hybrid basis with their Jersey offices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Managing the relationships with all company suppliers in long haul destinations
- Reviewing competitor activity and identify threats and opportunities within this product area
- Securing additional tactical offers with hotels for marketing activity
- Being heavily involved in the marketing planning and implementation of marketing activity
- Analysing sales and booking trends plus regularly reviewing committed beds and flights
- Throughout the year meeting with suppliers (virtually and in person) to review business, rates and offers
- Reviewing and negotiating contract proposals, dealing with any contract related queries thereafter
- Being responsible for product selection and pagination for the short haul brochure
- Sending regular communications to the sales teams on marketing and advertising activity plus to advise of any relevant product changes (including giving product training when required)
- Representing the company and brand at trade events
- Raising funds through overrides and marketing contributions

EXPERIENCE:

- A minimum of 3 years Product Manager or Contracts Manager experience within the Travel Industry is essential
- Previous experience of working for a Tour Operator is a must
- A thorough and working knowledge of all aspects of hotel contracts, health and safety, commercial deals and hotel offers is also required
- Product knowledge of at least two products from USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand is essential.
- An understanding of luxury rail, Cruise product and aviation would be beneficial
- Should have an excellent eye for attention to detail
- Needs to possess strong negotiation skills
- Needs to work well under pressure to meet tight marketing and production deadlines
- The ability to build a rapport with all hotels from small guest houses to 5 star hotels is required
- Being approachable is a must internally as this role works closely with many other departments such as reservations, commercial and marketing
- There must be willingness to travel to trade shows, industry functions and to go on contracting trips throughout the year

PACKAGE:
Salary - from £35,000 (depending on experience)
