**The Post**
The purpose of the post is to support the alumni engagement team in identifying and maximising new and existing opportunities and assist with the management of these relationships. The post holder will assist with the management of the University’s alumni engagement programme; and provide a professional service to colleagues within the Directorate and across the University to deliver its ambitious strategic ambition. The post-holder will report to the Alumni Relations Manager.

**KEY TASKS**
- Create content for the alumni social media channels and maintain a content calendar
- Support the organisation of alumni reunions
- Draft articles for the alumni magazine and e-newsletters
- Identify alumni who may provide career case studies to assist with recruitment activities

**Description of Duties**
**_
Alumni Engagement_**
- Support the organisation of alumni reunion events in the UK and overseas.
- Liaise with Faculties and Professional Services to develop case studies and content for use in publications and the website.
- Assist with the creation of content for social media platforms and update the content calendar.
- Work with the Alumni Relations Manager to support the production of the annual and electronic alumni magazines and regular e-newsletters.
- Support the Alumni Relations Manager in the recruitment and stewarding of volunteers in the Alumni Ambassador Programme.
- Represent the Directorate at regular meetings held at Faculties and Professional Services concerning alumni engagement.
- Attend or represent the Directorate at sectoral events on or off campus where appropriate.

**_Management and Reporting_**
- Support the Alumni Relations Manager by providing alumni engagement metrics to pinpoint trends and highlight any issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of alumni engagement-related policies, systems or processes.

**_General_**
- Support the Executive Director in developing a strategic approach to delivering a professional service across the institution to ensure the implementation of the University’s internationalisation agenda.
- Contribute to fostering a CAFÉ (creative, aspiring, flexible and engaging) culture within the Directorate.
- Work with Advancement colleagues to ensure the integrity and consistency of the data/information held on the database is up-to-date and GDPR compliant at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues, facilitating information sharing and coordination across departments.
- Undertake other duties from time to time as required by the Executive Director.

**Essential Criteria**
- A degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive experience working with social media
- A competent user of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent team working, inter-personal and creative problem-solving skills, with a friendly and positive ‘can do’ attitude
- A willingness to work non-standard hours (including weekends) as necessary

**Desirable Criteria**
- Track record of effective verbal and written communication with people from differing background, cultures and countries
- Experience of use of new technologies to deliver efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Experience of working in an HE environment
