- Job description-
The role will also assist with general Field Operations incident response and maintenance work as required and will be expected to undertake an incident duty role.
Duties include:

- Working with the Field teams to identify training requirements on an annual cycle
- Working with the national portfolio leads to plan specific training events
- Ensuring that suitable sites are identified, and any plant or equipment required for the training is available on site
- Completing risk management paperwork for the training, equipment, and location so that any risks are identified and mitigated
- Collation of training records and future training needs/refresher training
- Incident response for both flooding and environmental incidents, inside and outside of normal working hours
- Operating our flood risk assets and equipment, such as deploying sandbags and mobile pumps or operating flood basins
- Making sure work on site complies with the Environment Agency’s conservation and environmental procedures and legislation
- The team- Field teams protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating flood risk management assets, such as flood basins, embankments, and pump stations. We require a range of technical skills to carry out the maintenance of watercourses, flood asset, and small construction projects. The team handle a variety of specialist equipment including plant, chainsaws and mowing equipment. We respond to flood and environmental incidents via a 24hr standby rota which attracts additional benefits and allowances.
- Experience/skills required- We are looking for someone with experience of field, or site-based work, and who understands the operation of plant and equipment in these situations. You will have good organisational and communication skills as well as a positive attitude. Knowledge of the risk assessments process and site safety legislation would also be beneficial.

- You should have a good understanding of site-based health and safety requirements

- Competent with IT, such as Microsoft 365

A full UK driving licence is required
