**Pay rate**:£16.84-£20.76

The acute inpatient treatment pathway provides services to those experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis where an inpatient stay is necessary. The post holder will take a lead role in the development, provision and evaluation of occupational therapy servicedelivery in line with the relevant care cluster interventions.

Strong communication skills are an essential for this placement across a wide variety of settings including with patients, carers, other teams, third sector and voluntary organisations. The post holder will be able to adapt their communication style to takeinto account age-related, as well as, other communication needs and differences, in order to plan, deliver and evaluate services. This extends itself to written communication to keep accurate and clear records and reports.

**The Postholder Will**:

- Set goals and interventions to improve engagement in self-care, productivity, & leisure activities for treatment of acute mental health needs
- Ensure occupational therapy makes a significant and specialist contribution to patient’s recovery and pathway through the PICU and inpatient service
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic experience and environment within PICU and inpatient settings
- Be responsible for managing high standards of clinical care and maintaining service delivery based on sound clinical and professional judgement

**Essential Requirements**:

- OT Professional Qualification
- HCPC registration
- Previous NHS experience
- Substantial OT experience in Acute Mental health care setting
- Significant experience of undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management

**Desirable**:

- Driving license and access to car to potential assist with community work
