**Procurement Project Officer / Hybrid / South London / £450 per day umbrella**
**Overview**:
My client, a local authority based in South London are looking for a Procurement Project Officer to join them on an interim basis until the end of March 2023. The purpose of the role is to take forward the Council's Category Management approach and it's Makevs. Buy agenda.
**Role & Responsibilities**:

- To provide professional procurement resource to support and advise internal and external partners such that all LBM procurement decisions deliver
- To work alongside clients, primarily on medium to high value-risk procurements and guide clients through procurement governance, legislation, use of the e-tendering portal, etc. (with the support of a Category Advisor where appropriate)
- To assist in the identification, preparation and delivery of briefings, workshops and training for managers and staff on commercial and procurement matters
- To establish and manage the team communications systems ensuring that the Service's procedures, policies, strategies and objectives are effectively communicated across the Council
- Continuous improvement in service delivery
**Skills & Experience**:

- MCIPS certification or working towards MCIPS certification or relevant experience working within a professional / commercial procurement environment
- Responsibility in previous roles for the delivery of public sector (or similar) procurement projects, mainly through tendering, to deliver savings against demanding timescales
- Experience in the development, implementation and operation of procurement strategy, policies, systems, processes, toolkits across an organisation
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels of the organisation

- Monday - Friday (9am-5pm)
