**CREDIT CONTROLLER**
**Salary**: £25,000 to £27,000 (pro rata)
Reporting to: Finance Manager & Finance Director
**WHO ARE WE**
We are a successful engineering design and planning consultancy working in the construction industry. With a 60-year successful track record, operating out of four office locations, and employing over 100 we are looking for a new member of staff to join our Finance Team.
**THE ROLE**:
Responsibilities include:
- Credit management: Assess creditworthiness of new and existing clients. Flag any concerns for further consideration.
- Debt collection: Monitor overdue accounts. Implement effective debt recovery strategies while maintaining a client focused approach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understand their payment processes and assist them resolving credit relates queries.
- Collaborate with client’s project teams and internal colleagues to resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
- Account reconciliation and management: Perform regular account reviews, resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate and up to date records of client interactions.
- Reporting: Maintain appropriate management reports, provide regular debt related updates and insights.
- Develop and implement effective credit control procedures to improve efficiency of the collection process.
- Knowledge of the legal framework as applied to commercial debt recovery desirable but not essential
The role will also involve supporting the wider finance function and specific project work as and when the need arises.
**THE CANDIDATE**
- Successful track record and experience in credit control is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
- Comfortable working independently or collaboratively and making informed judgements and decisions.
- High levels of integrity and professionalism.
