The Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit is looking for a number of PCs & DCs to join the team, both on the North and West of the county.

You will be working on some of the most prominent national and local priorities such as Violence Against Women & Girls and Police Perpetrated Domestic Abuse. You will be shaping the Force's response to Domestic Abuse, working across the LPAs to improve investigation standards whilst securing charges for some of the most violent criminals in the county and safeguarding some of the most vulnerable victims.

Confidentiality, Integrity and Honesty are key values of the officers working within the unit due to the high-profile investigations you will be involved in. This is fundamental to the positive changes we need to make in engendering trust and confidence to those who currently feel unable to report to us.

You must also be flexible and committed to achieving the best possible results, able to problem solve and think outside the box, looking for solutions that aren't always the most obvious. This is a creative area of investigation and you will be supported and recognised for your tenacious creativity.

You will work towards becoming an expert in the field of Domestic Abuse Investigation, sharing knowledge and skills across the wider LPA and external partners. People will look to you as a role model and we will equip you to excel in this, with the ability to learn new tactics and continue your professional development.

We are looking for officers who can demonstrate strong emotional awareness about themselves, towards their team members and the public we serve. We know we have to be fit and resilient enough to stand up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves and that means looking out for one another, too.

PCs will have the opportunity to work towards the nationally accredited Detective qualification and will be fully supported through this process, though this is not essential and should not be seen as a reason not to apply.
