**Role Responsibility**

Swalecliffe Community Services is a Kent County Council in House Support and Enablement service supporting people with learning and physical disabilities in the local area within the Canterbury locality. We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team.

We are looking for a Support Worker to assist people to meet their aspirations through a person-centred approach, focusing on the outcomes for the individual. Promoting social inclusion, rights, and choices, leading to an increase in independence and fulfilled lives.

You will have a flexible approach to supporting people to access activities and participate fully in their local community. We also support Individuals with more complex support and communication needs, and you may be required to provide support with some personal care tasks including continence and nutrition. This is an exciting opportunity where you will be provided with access to a vast range of training, the support to learn, develop and gain new skills which will enable you to become part of a professional, creative, and motivated team.

Based primarily at Swalecliffe Day Centre, Swalecliffe, Whitstable, you will, at times, provide support at our other hubs and services in the locality and will need to be able to travel across these areas in a timely manner.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
