We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Referral Officer to join us at Front Door For Families. The role is based within the multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH), based at Kingswood Street, Brighton. You will be working with key professionals including health, education and police who work closely together to enable timely decisions to be made to safeguard children, young people and families more effectively.

**About the role**:
The Front Door For Families deals with referrals from professionals and members of the public who have concerns about the welfare or safety of a child or young person or are looking for some support for families. The Multi
- Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within Front Door For Families ensures that the Local Authority acts quickly and appropriately to ensure the best decisions are achieved for children; it provides a delivery framework that enables partner agencies to work together to support and safeguard children by sharing and analysing information. Referral Officers are the first point of contact when referrals come into the service, working alongside MASH Social Workers and reporting to a Practice Manager.

As a referral officer, you will:

- be responsible for completing all requests for Information from partners and external agencies.
- collate information that we hold accurately and liaise with the referrer as appropriate.
- be the single point of contact for referrals to family hubs.

You will be someone who:

- is passionate about this work and genuinely care about improving the lives of children and young people.
- has excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner and the ability to draw and identify important information from conversations, ensuring that they are dealt with in an inclusive and accessible manner.
- is organised and able to confidently prioritise work based on information received.
- is comfortable building strong and inclusive working relationships with colleagues and partner organisations from diverse backgrounds, understanding the importance of collaborative working in achieving the best outcomes for our children.

The post will involve some exposure to distressing information about young people and/or family circumstances

**Additional information**:
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
