**Fixed Term for 12 months**

Learning and Skills Officer, Modern Day Slavery Services

**Base: Office with travel around Brighton area.**

**Salary**: £24,278.00
Hours: 37.5 hours

**Primary Objectives**:
To design and deliver learning opportunities to people who have experienced modern day slavery and trafficking. A variety of strategies will be used to develop informal learning that will benefit those we are supporting.

**Main Duties**:

- To design and deliver the project that provide learning opportunities for the people we support
- Increase participation in both the programme and local learning activities,
- To encourage engagement from the people we support by understanding their needs,
- Work with project workers and SJOG colleagues and broad stakeholders outside of SJOG
- Travel across as the Brighton area as needed in order to deliver the project.
- To work in line with requirements set out by funding agreement, including report writing.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the line manager.

**Qualification and training**:

- Relevant qualification in community work, teaching, or similar.

**Experience**:

- Working with vulnerable populations
- Working and liaising with variety of stakeholders such as charities, local authorities, training providers
- Experience of project delivery.
- Designing and delivering group work activities and individual support
- Confident in report writing (such as using case studies)
- Ability to work very well under pressure.

**Key skills and knowledge**:

- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Understanding the needs of vulnerable populations
- Feel comfortable and confident in working with people who may present challenging behaviours
- Ability to interact successfully with a range of colleagues.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and use own initiative
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adopt a flexible approach in managing conflicting demands.
- Ability to work effectively with others, co-operate with colleagues and help them.
- Ability to organise own workload effectively.

**Desirable skills and knowledge**:

- Proficient in second language (e.g. Romanian and Albanian)
- Designing learning resources along with activity management

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £24,278.00 per year
