**Salary**: £25,870
The primary objective of the Central Planner is to efficiently assign tasks to Route Sales Manager (Drivers) and Technicians, ensuring excellent customer service and cost-effective operations.
Performance is measured through the Service on Time KPI. Therefore, the role is accountable and carries ownership over the achievement of 95% services performed on time to our customers.
This position is responsible for optimizing route planning, resolving delivery
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Operational Reporting: Review performance metrics routinely (Service on Time and Weekly Sales Performance Tracker) to identify results, root causes, and define actions for improvement.
- Task Distribution: Assign irregular tasks, such as additional deliveries, technical services, sanitizations, returns, installations, backlog deliveries, and handling complaints, while adhering to predefined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Sanitisation Planning
- Critical Task Assignment: Assign delivery-related tasks to Technicians or Temporary Cover during peak seasons or emergency situations.
- Reporting: Promptly report instances of RSM or Technicians failing to complete assigned tasks to the Branch Operations Management team.
- Resource Management: Assist the Branch Operations Management team in task assignment when resources are limited due to vacancies, employee absences or vehicle breakdowns.
- Route Reorganization: Adjust routes based on significant changes in the customer base.
- Geocoding: Incorporate new customers into route planning by geocoding their locations.
- Route Efficiency Analysis: Continuously analyse route efficiency and make necessary adjustments to optimize route profitability and revenue growth.
- Peak Season Planning
- 3rd Parties / Courier Work Planning: Approve costs with Branch Operations Management
- aligned with productivity revenue forecast and budget. Plan the work of couriers under the single and re-load thresholds, if available for collaboration.
- Special Contract Planning: Coordinate deliveries and sanitization for special contracts with short response times and contractual penalties.
- New Customer Assignments: Assist the Branch Operations Management team in assigning tasks related to new customers, including installation requests, Collaborate with Sales regarding managing customer expectations on route composition or mobilisation timelines.
- Customer Service: Promptly support customer escalations by collaborating with key stakeholders in ensuring delivery of excellent customer service.
- Contract Coordination: Ensure timely fulfilment of contract obligations.
- Stock Ordering: Notify relevant stakeholders (Branch Operations, Sales, Supply Chain) about the need to order stock for installations and service requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve planning processes to enhance efficiency, cost control and effectiveness
**Requirements**:
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Driven to deliver exceptional levels of service to customers and internal colleagues.
- Ability to work to time pressures and prioritise activity.
- Ability to communicate with and influence operational managers.
- Experience of service planning within the UK logistics market preferred.
- Resilience in handling high-stress situations while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound geographical knowledge.
