Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the creation and approval of packaging artwork from design lock, through to commercially reproducible mechanical artwork and separations which are handed over to the printer in a timely manner. This person will be responsible for initiating and managing projects using the artwork management system, and also working within a multi-functional and multinational project team to deliver projects on time, in full.

The position must interface with internal teams (such as Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, e-Commerce) who provide master design files and pack content, and also external partners (print management agencies, design agencies, printers, etc) who deliver the work in the form of mechanical artwork, pack image albums and printed packaging.

As technical experts, they will provide expertise and input into the design, artwork and print phases of the project to ensure that the right levels of approval integrity, brand quality and consistency are maintained throughout the artwork process and supplier printing process. There is also a responsibility to manage the creation of digital pack images and hero images for various channels and touch points internally and externally in an ever more digital and connected world

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage end-to-end artwork processes, overseeing design lock to commercially reproducible mechanical artwork, ensuring timely handover to printers.
- Initiate and drive projects using the artwork system, collaborating with cross functional and multinational project teams for on-time and complete project delivery.
- Interface with internal departments (Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, e-Commerce) for master design files and pack content, and external partners (print management agencies, design agencies, printers) for mechanical artwork and printed packaging.
- Leverage expertise during design phase collaboration with marketing and design agencies, ensuring designs are technically printable before internal approval.
- Organize and lead pre-production meetings, bringing together stakeholders to maintain quality and consistency from artwork to print.
- Monitor artwork costs, collaborating with marketing to optimize expenses and track spending.
- Ensure accurate delivery of mechanical artwork and separation files to printers, proactively addressing any issues.
- Maintain project timelines, effectively managing deadlines and gatekeeping project schedules.
- Manage timely delivery of digital pack images, aligning with Artwork Excellence standards.
- Engage with stakeholders to manage expectations regarding task status, timing, and technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with approved rate cards, service level agreements, procurement, and payment procedures.
- Approve colour proofs and standards, align printer specifications with defined processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for Artwork Excellence.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in artwork coordination, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Previous experience using design software and artwork management system. (Blue Artwork system experience considered an advantage)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
